Incredible Deal for those Purchasing ProVision in December

Proforma expect to release ProVision V4.2 in early January, 2003 and as a result of some changes in the product line-up, you can get a great deal by purchasing ProVision during December.

Simulation will become an optional add-on, instead of Monte Carlo Simulation being provided within ProVision as is currently the case. The optional simulation will include BOTH Monte Carlo and Discrete Event Simulation.

Since Proforma insist on moving current users upwards when product changes occur, this means that all users of BusinessPro and EnterprisePro will receive both simulation capabilities free when V4.2 is released. This is a saving of $5,000 per seat but it will only be possible if you purchase (or already own) licenses before the end of the year.

Industry Models now Available for ProVision

Have a look at Proforma's Model Showroom for further details on the following industry models now available:

Telecommunications
Proforma has combined the industry expertise of telecommunications professionals and telecom standards to develop these industry-specific business models. They can be utilised to redesign business processes, determine associated system and infrastructure requirements and address those issues identified as critical in today’s telecommunications industry.
Supply Chain
By storing the SCOR models in ProVision you have a common supply chain framework to understand, communicate and improve your supply chain. If you or your company need to develop or improve your current supply chain management practices you need ProVision with ProSCOR.
Higher Education
Proforma’s Higher-Education Framework is designed to be a resource that will assist college and university personnel in developing an accurate model of the information and activities required to support basic student services. Both procedural and information requirements are addressed within the framework through the presentation of integrated functions as experienced by the student and faculty member.
Insurance
Proforma’s Insurance Industry Models consists of a set of standard business models that provide an enterprise-wide view of the insurance operations processes: Life, Health, Disability, Property/Casualty, Reinsurance and Surety Insurance Practices. This set of models is designed to be a resource that will assist insurance companies in developing accurate models of the information and activities required to provide exceptional products and service to clients and partners.

These industry models are now available from Delegate IT and we will be happy to provide further information and pricing.

ProGuide Version 2.0 has been Released

ProGuide has been extensively revised and provides an integrated set of repeatable "best practices" process models that an organisation can successfully employ when performing model-based business process improvement, requirements analysis and application development projects. This methodology tool helps project managers, business modellers and developers define the "who, what, where, when, why and how" necessary for effective business process analysis and system development projects.

ProGuide was developed by Proforma Corporation as a direct result of extensive consulting experiences using the principles of Business Process modelling, Object Modelling, Information Engineering, Application Design, Component Development, and System Implementation. The intent of ProGuide is to provide an integrated set of repeatable "Best Practices" or processes that an organisation can successfully employ when performing model-based business modelling, requirements analysis, and application development projects.

The Best Practices "Process" Notebooks of ProGuide describe the different project structures, along with their activities and deliverables. These process notebooks are entitled:

  • Business Domain Profile
  • Business Process Improvement
  • Business Object Analysis
  • Distributed Design
  • Packaged Software Implementation
  • System Development and Implementation

In addition, a set of Modelling Techniques documents that describe detailed procedures for developing model-based deliverables is provided. This section is entitled:

  • Modelling Techniques

ProVision News

Version 4.2 Coming Soon

Additional enhancements for Enterprise Architects are available in ProVision 4.2 with the release of two new modellers designed to support enterprise architects. The first of these is the Strategy Modeller, which allows a user to build a model that includes goals, problems, opportunities, rules and environmental influences on the same model.

The impact relationships among strategic components can be visually charted and better understood. For example, the impact of problems on attaining goals, the impact of opportunities in solving problems, the impact of environmental influences on achieving goals, etc. This model can be used for a variety of purposes, such as supporting the balanced scorecard (see above diagram) approach for setting goals and measuring performance.

The second modeller is the Communication modeller. Like the Strategy modeller, it will allow a diverse set of object types to be shown on the same model -- in this case, organisations, facilities, locations, systems, processes, activities, and equipment. The Communication link which ties these objects together relates the avenues of communication that exist (or should exist) between these objects. As an example, this model can show the communication links that must exist between locations, the communication that people have with processes, and relationships between organisations where products or other deliverables are passed.

ProVision Version 4.2 is expected in early January 2003. Visit our website for the latest information..
